Losing with no regrets

Losing a friend or loved one can either leave a scar of regret or a cherished memory. A scar or a cherished memory of time spent with another always remains, long after the relationship has ended.

Whether the loss comes abruptly from death, slowly fades away with time spent apart, or even worse, due to a misunderstanding…a petty disagreement, the loss of a friend or loved one, once truly realized…hurts.

There’s nothing we can do to avoid dying. But we can realize its inevitability and make every effort to express our value for our friends and loved ones so there is no room for doubt.

And let’s face it, life happens. People get married, have kids, move far away. Time together isn’t possible anymore. So sometimes a relationship is for just a season.

When misunderstandings (also inevitable) creep up, someone (ONE OF YOU) has to ask of themselves, “Is it more important to prove I’m right; Or, is this relationship worth keeping regardless?” How you answer this will clearly reflect your value of this person.

We must treasure every gift of friendship and loved one we have while we can and never take them for granted. This way, the mark of time that remains when our friends and loved ones are gone, will be, remembered as time well spent. And this, will make all the difference between living on when they’re gone with cherished memories or living through a painful, slow-to-if-ever healing life of regret.

Have a friend or loved one that comes to mind? If possible, now might be a wonderful time to let them know they’re on your mind and how much they mean to you. Send a letter, an email, a tweet, make a call, take a drive…

Reach out now, with no regrets.
